About Marvel Counters

Marvel Counters is a free, fan-made tool for Marvel Rivals. You load the enemy team (with a scoreboard screenshot or by hand) and it builds the team comp that beats it, explaining why each hero is there. It also has an MVP mode that builds the best team around your main, a page for every hero with their counters and best teammates, and guides on how to beat each type of enemy comp.

It runs in your browser, needs no account and processes screenshots locally: no image is uploaded anywhere.

Marvel Counters is made by XavoDraw, a Marvel Rivals player and content creator, as an independent project. Special thanks to CrisSharp for the support that got the project started and to TioJarston for testing it live on stream. You can follow the project on TikTok, Instagram, Twitch.

The core of the site is a matchup matrix between all 56 heroes (who beats whom one-on-one). It was built by cross-checking hands-on testing in real matches, community guides and corrections sent by players, and every matchup was reviewed by hand. On top of that, each hero has a profile of how they play (dive, brawl, poke, peel, anti-heal, team shields, self-sustain…), and damage and healing numbers come from the official ability values.

The "AI Counters" section is a separate second opinion written by AI from each hero's kit, shown apart from the main matrix.

Marvel Rivals is played 6v6, so a good recommendation can't look at one matchup at a time. The tool reads the enemy's plan (heavy dive, a single healer, lots of damage, flyers, shields…), tries different ways to build your team (2-2-2, triple tank, triple support…) and scores each one on four things: matchups, how well it answers the enemy's plan, defense (how much of their damage your healing and shields can absorb) and risk. Every recommendation shows those points, so you can see why it wins.

The "How did it go?" button lets players report match results anonymously, which is used to check and improve the recommendations over time.
